Day 1 We have arrived...

Our flight to Denver was enjoyable, and I had a smooth experience in the airport, which was a very nice way to start the trip. I was surprised to see how flat it was inn Denver with the mountains in the distance. We drove to Rocky Mountain National Park for the night, but not before we stopped at Walmart! (This will be a reoccurring trend.) We picked up food and some last minute gear. Then we lost the keys to the van for a little while... so we hung out in the parking lot. There was a guy selling tomales out of his car, which was interesting. A few people bought them and they were not that great from what I remember.

Finally, we found the keys! Off we went towards Rocky Mountain National Park. Our campsite was in the middle of the mountains and it had a great view of some peaks. We set up camp and cooked burgers over the fire. Looking back, this was somewhat of a luxurious camping night. We had avocados, tomatoes, and fresh buns. Everything was brand new and clean (this wouldn't last long!). We had a really nice first night and I was excited about the adventures to come.
